Robert Half Security Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the education industry based in Boston, Massachusetts. As a Security Manager, you will be responsible for spearheading our organization's security program, ensuring the safety of our organization's data and systems. This role will require you to liaise with various teams, manage vendor relationships, and implement effective security strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive security program in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

• Manage our relationship with our security operations vendor, guaranteeing they meet our needs and provide effective security services.

• Review and oversee security and privacy clauses within contracts in collaboration with our legal team to ensure alignment with our security program and legal requirements.

• Foster a collaborative and security-focused work environment, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.

• Communicate effectively about security risks and initiatives to leadership, staff, and external stakeholders.

• Implement strategies to ensure the effective safeguarding of the organization's data and systems.

• Manage vendor relationships to ensure the delivery of effective security services.

• Oversee security operations, ensuring the safety of all organizational assets.

• Develop and manage a comprehensive security program, aligning it with industry best practices. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Security Manager role or similar position within the education sector

• Skilled in implementing security strategies and programs

• Proven ability to manage vendor relationships effectively

• Extensive knowledge and experience in security operations

• Strong understanding and experience in managing security programs

• Exceptional leadership and team management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to make decisions under pressure and in emergency situations

• Proficiency in using security management software and systems

• Relevant certifications in security management or related field is preferred

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

• Familiarity with relevant local and national security regulations and standards

• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor security staff
