We are looking for a talented Lead to join our team specializing in Industrial HSE for our Cummins Meritor Location in Florence, Kentucky.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Provides administrative technical support for key health and safety initiatives coordinating data collection checking for accuracy, reporting through required HSE systems, maintaining records for occupational health and safety training, and coordinating and assisting in meeting preparations.

  • Maintains confidentiality and appropriate recordkeeping standards in line with corporate data protection and retention requirements.

  • Builds an understanding of HSE culture and apply to business processes.

  • Tracks and reports required monthly metrics to the enterprise incident management system.

  • Coordinates and assists in delivery of health and safety training programs.

  • Participates in health and safety inspection and audit programs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Ergonomic Fundamentals - Understands ergonomic concepts by applying Cummins ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls, and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees while at work.

  • Work Related Injury and Illness Management - Communicates and documents work related injuries or illnesses through application of Cummins reporting guidelines and relevant regulations to classify and manage the event and its consequences as well as achieve regulatory compliance; cares for the affected employees by facilitating clinical treatment practices and applying case management processes to restore the employee to his/her normal condition.

  • Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and participating in actions to improve health and safety to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.

  • Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems - Interprets and applies international standards through practical application within the operating environment to achieve and maintain an effective management system and external certification.

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • A College, University or equivalent degree in Industrial Safety or related field preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications required.

  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

  • Assist with maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Certification.

  • Assist team members with Safety Improvement Ideas (Suggestion Program).

  • Assist team members and workplace committees with creative approaches to improving safety.

  • Assist with Incident Investigations - conduct interview process, take pictures, and obtain any other necessary paperwork 5S Safety Areas (eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, oil drums, absorbent containers etc.), Universal and non-hazardous waste.

  • Help minimize incidents through effective communication of policies, procedures, and information.

  • 60% or more of Safety Coordinator’s time will be spent on the plant floor Using Enablon safety software to enter incident, action plans, sustainability metrics, etc.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
