Newaygo County Regional Educational Services Agency Success Coach in Fremont, Michigan

General Function

 

The Success Coach is responsible for directly supporting the success of Newaygo County high school graduates pursuing post-secondary credentials by connecting and leveraging college access and success resources. The Success Coach will directly collaborate, support, and be accountable to the integrated efforts of the local career and college access network, WE CAN! Newaygo County, and the Newaygo County Area Promise Zone.

 

We seek a dynamic professional who will eagerly provide comprehensive coaching to a caseload of students from college entry through degree completion. The ideal candidate should be passionate about the benefits to obtaining post-secondary credentials and motivated to support and experienced in assisting students in achieving success amidst barriers and challenges. The Success Coach will develop and maintain strong relationships with appropriate and relevant college departments as well as community-based entities in order to assist students toward self-sufficiency and post-secondary success. The Success Coach will also advise students in all areas of life skills, including, but not limited to assistance with housing, employment, budgeting/financial management, and career planning, as it pertains to the student's post-secondary progress and success. The successful candidate will have an appreciation for data collection and be experienced in maintaining accurate data tracking systems for student connections. The Success Coach will regularly generate and review reports on student participation and outcomes to continuously improve program operations.

 

*            Qualifications/Requirements*

 

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree or higher, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Possess an understanding of the benefits associated with the achievement of post-secondary credentials.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions (critical thinking skills).
  • Leadership ability and cultural sensitivity to maintain relationships between diverse populations and multiple agencies across the county.
  • Passionate, creative, and possess the ability to assume responsibility and take initiative; shall be self-sufficient and require minimal supervision or assistance to aid in job duties and must be able to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills are required along with the ability to managa data collection and analysis and efficiently manage time.
  • Team-oriented professional who works well autonomously and able to collaborate effectively in a team; shall exhibit the ability to provide customer service and to work and relate with students, staff, employers and the community.
  • Able to use technology, including Microsoft Office and social media, to enhance these post-secondary opportunities.
  • Must possess a growth mindset.
  • Physically capable of performing the necessary job duties.
  • Able to work as a member of a team and contribute to the agency vision and goals.
  • Positive leadership skills and able to take initiative.
  • Must complete and pass required criminal history check.
