Job Summary:
The Program Director, under the supervision of the Department Chair shall be responsible for the organization, management, administration, planning, periodic review, evaluation, continued development and general effectiveness of the Occupational Therapy Graduate Program(s). The Program Director is responsible for providing leadership to the respective program(s) in harmony with its mission, in order that the philosophy, goals and objectives of the program may be achieved. The Program Director is provided 20% release time from teaching in order to meet the administrative needs of the program(s).
You Will Be Responsible For:

Scope of Responsibility :
Represents to the Department Chair, regarding faculty and student needs, budget, program evaluation,space and equipment needs
Identifies appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences
Designs, coordinates, and implements program curriculum
Compliance/Regulatory Responsibility :
Under the supervision of the Department Chair, development of a curriculum in harmony with the institution, community, and professional accreditation agencies
Participate in institutional effectiveness activities including collection and analysis of annual program outcome data
Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility :
Preparation of and administration of program budgeting in collaboration with the VP of Finance and under the supervision of the Department Chair
Assists in securing internal and/or external sources of funding for the department and/or students
Strategic Planning Responsibility :
Represents program needs to the Department Chair in the process of strategic planning in accordance with the institution’s mission and vision
Updates and documents program strategic planning and objective oversight through necessary management systems
Performance Improvement Responsibility :
Maintains involvement in professional organizations
Develops improvement plans for the program faculty and students to improve performance, as indicated by assessment results
Community Relations Responsibility :
Exhibits and models the characteristics of a Christian professional
Assists in establishing activities to sustain community based best practices site
Participates in program and University-wide service activities
Staffing/Labor/Supervisory Responsibility :
Faculty support and mentorship for teaching and advisement excellence
Faculty and staff selection and evaluation
Facilitation of student and employee grievances under the direction of the Department Chair and according to university policies
Qualifications
What Will You Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy or other healthcare related area by an institution accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the USDE
Entry level Occupational Therapy degree
Minimum of 8 years of documented experience in the profession of occupational therapy. This must include:
A minimum of two years of clinical practice as an OT
History of scholarship
A minimum of three years of full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post-secondary level
Administration experience to include program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Initially certified by NBCOT as an occupational therapist
Current licensure for Florida as an occupational therapist
