Boehringer Ingelheim Project Engineer in Pirbright, United Kingdom

THE POSITION

You assist the Company by delivering a range of transformational process improvement projects across the business, as part of the ongoing site investment strategy, through project management of design, construction, installation, testing, inspection, commissioning and handover activities.

This role is predominantly a site-based role at our manufacturing site in Pirbright, with some flexibility for hybrid working where possible.

TASK & RESPONSIBILITES

• Facilitate changes to existing production processes, site infrastructure and control systems.

• Accountable for installation, commissioning, start-up of new equipment and changes to existing equipment.

• Assist validation of new equipment and changes to existing equipment including document generation.

• As Project Engineer your are responsible for managing all aspects of the project execution from inception through to completion. As Project Engineer you will coordinate the project activities of the project team members including the key enabling functions, Engineering SME's, consultants, contractors, vendors, user representatives, support staff, etc.

• Ensure Plant Modifications/Management of Change (MOC) process is followed for projects/modifications, at the appropriate stage of the project.

• Support manufacturing in troubleshooting product and equipment issues.

• Drive the communication to identify issues with the manufacturing process and find long term solutions to these issues. Identify improvements to manufacturing process.

• Work with manufacturing on the development of future capital projects and on the development of requirements for the project and reviewing compliance to any requirements.

• Act as change control & MOC owner for equipment, process and infrastructure improvement projects.

• Accountable for full lifecycle of project execution; closing out change control & MOC action items and documentation. Documentation includes Project Execution Plans (PEP), Project Meeting Minutes, P&ID drawings, FSDs, HDS, SDS, detailed design specifications, Turn-over-packages, material specifications, and other documentation as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree qualified in an engineering discipline - Electrical/mechanical/Chemical/Process

• IOSH or NEBOSH qualified would be advantageous

• Pharmaceutical manufacturing, Bio processing or Food industry experience is desirable

• Experience in delivering a number projects

• Communication/collaboration skills to effectively interact with a range of stakeholders

• Effective planning to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget

• Flexible and adaptable with the ability to listen and learn

• Preferred hands on practical skills and competencies

• Drive for results in terms of team delivery and personal output
