Robert Half Plant Controller in Shelby, North Carolina

Description

Great opportunity for someone at the Sr Accountant or Accounting Manager level looking to take the next step in their career.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Controller in the manufacturing industry. This role is based in Shelby, North Carolina and involves overseeing various financial and accounting processes within our plant.

  • General Accounting: Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to management and stakeholders.

  • Cost Accounting: Track and analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead. Assist in the calculation of standard costs and the evaluation of cost-saving opportunities.

  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and physical inventory counts. Ensure accuracy of inventory records and compliance with inventory control policies.

  • Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as required. Address audit findings and implement recommendations for process improvements.

    Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience within the manufacturing industry

• Must have proven skills in 'Month End Close' operations

• Ability to manage and oversee plant operations to meet business objectives

• Strong financial acumen to develop and implement financial control procedures

• Excellent communication skills to liaise with various departments and stakeholders

• Strong problem-solving skills to address operational hitches

• BS Degree in Accounting

• Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines and work under pressure

• Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills

• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to manufacturing operations.
