The General Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Chief Plant Operator. The position is responsible for all routine preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment at the Sugar Grove Campus. This includes all heating and cooling systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and monitor heating and cooling systems. To include Inspection, replacement of v-belts, air filters, & grease bearings.

Assist with HVAC system trouble shooting & repairs.

Safely maintaining chemical treatment for heating and cooling systems. Closed Loops-primarily perform daily testing and make necessary operational adjustments as needed.

Perform monthly boiler safety inspections and testing.

Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspections.

Perform annual Science Building Hood air flow certification testing.

Perform basic plumbing repairs which include sinks, toilets, urinals and water fountains.

Safely troubleshoot 120V, 208V, 480V control circuits. Perform basic electrical repair and maintenance.

Assist mechanics as required.

Assist with Snow Removal.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Two years employment in related field.

Valid driver\'s license and a clean driving record required.

Team player, ability to work well with others.

Excellent customer service skills.

Physical ability to lift 80lbs occasionally.

Ability to work from ladders or scaffolds and lifts.

Good communication skills, both oral and written.

Ability to do frequent climbing, standing, crawling and walking.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Able to perform basic work order functions with smartphone, computer and related devices.
